Chalk Line celebrates the Cajun mutant from New Orleans with the X-Men Gambit Retro Shorts!

Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Jim Lee, Gambit first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men Annual #14 in 1990. With the ability to control kinetic energy, Gambit often charges objects like playing cards with energy to use them as volatile projectiles. Known for being a ladies' man and a thief, he eventually marries Rogue in the comics.

In 1991, Marvel revised the entire lineup of X-Men comic book titles with writer Chris Claremont and relaunched the series. Gambit is drawn here by the great Jim Lee for the first cover of the 1991 comic X-Men #1.

Perhaps best known from the 1992 TV series X-Men: The Animated Series, Gambit was featured in the 2024 X-Men '97 series.
